Food porn alert!

No way around it... this post is raw food porn.

Tonight I wanted to eat. Not
eat, but... EAT. Meat and potatoes, and thats what I made.

Home fries with sauteed onions, cooked crisp and browned in butter. Fresh black pepper ground on in clouds, settling like a lovers touch.

Steak... simple steak. Seared on hot iron without fancy seasonings nor even marinating. Plain good meat tossed in the same hot iron pan the onions were sauteed in, lending their subtle flavor to the meat.

Sprinkle with kosher salt, more pepper..... and..... then....

EAT

You and Brigid are killing me! I've been so broke this last month from having to replace my laptop that I've been on a Ramen diet. Now this? I aughta report you to Rachel Ray.

It's just lucky I had the giant Kryptonyte lunch today or your evil powers would overwhelm.

I know not to look at this in the morning. If I do, I'll be making home fries before the sun is even up.

Jim - buy a few potatoes. . cheaper than 4 packs of Ramen Noodles. Slice into chunks. Toss with about 14 cup of oil (you should have some in the house) or any oil based salad dressings you might have. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, any herbs you may have, rosemary's good, onion powder, garlic powder, but just salt and pepper is good.

Roast in a covered pan for 30 minutes at 400 degrees. Better than the noodles and super cheap.

I concur Jim..... Why suffer with Raman noodles when culinary ambrosia is only pennies away?

A sack of potatoes, another of onions, some garlic, and a stocked spice cabinet can really fill out a menu.

I've eaten what Brigid just advised, and it's amazingly tasty for being so simple.

For those of us who are slightly dirt poor at the moment (cough cough) kitchen resourcefulness pays off.
