The new deal on health care......

.
Read this article..... and then we'll talk.
  • 600 billion in new taxes on citizens.
  • 400 billion in Medicare payment cuts, but only to private insurance companies.
  • New taxes on any private insurance which is better than the proposed public insurance, which means every other plan, period. This tax is on individuals.
  • Criminal prosecution for employers who don't pay for coverage.
  • Another $1,000,000,000,000 in spending over the next decade, paid by tax payers.
All to have universal medical care up to the wonderful standards of the VA and Medicare. Imagine your families medical care... run with the same blinding efficiency and deep caring as the DMV and the IRS.

Oh..... one small point.... none of this applies to Congressman, Senators, or their families, or the President and his family, or his cabinet and their families, or Governors and their families, or State Senators and their families, or union leaders and their families, or........... anybody but you and I, average tax payers. Don't you worry your pretty little head about it... the Politburo and the Party Apparatchiks will be fine, and thanks for asking.

If you have any questions (if you dare to), they will all be answered when you tune into a highly impartial informational broadcast put forth by ABC on June 24'th, when they will report to the white house for several hours of preplanned discussion with a hand picked audience, after an evening long non-partisan special titled "Prescription for Amerika".

(update)

Oops.... that went up another six billion this morning, to an additional cost of $1,600,000,000,000 over the next ten years.

FWIW, the husband is federal employee. I don't know that I would wish our coverage on anyone. I suppose there are plenty out there who would be grateful to have ANY coverage, but...there's a reason I call them :"Keystone HealthBastards."

Cranky... I know people who have Federal employee health plans. Every single one swears they are near worthless.... Each has outlays that measure thousands a year in stuff not, or under, covered.

I, for one, will never again watch a broadcast on ABC, nor will I watch anything on the local ABC affiliate.

ABC has demonstrated that they cannot be trusted to present information in an unbiased manner and, in fact, confirmed their extreme bias.

If I can't trust their news, I can't trust anything else they say, either.

I have a number of friends who work for the local IRS center. Almost all have supplemental health insurance in addition to their "fedcare." One former Desert Storm vet says he goes to the VA first rather than use his federal health care (and our VA in KC is one of the worst in the country. I refuse to go there.)

Regardless of the costs described, it is cheaper to provide preventative healthcare to every American rather than spend trillions on treatment of the uninsured and under-insured. The healthcare industry is crumbling because of carrying the burden of uninsured / underinsured people. And those of us with adequate insurance covered by our employer are paying more than we need to in order to pay for those who don't pay, and also to line the pockets of Blue Cross/Blue Shield administrators. I don't have the answers, but any investment into getting all Americans health insurance and access to preventative medicine will reduce overall healthcare costs dramatically and promote more efficiency in the system.

Thanks for healthcare debate!
