A long day

Today was one those long days that demanded performance. Non stop, grinding, performance.

My partner in crime... er.... education was pulled from our program at nine this morning. That left me flying solo with 40+ students. Theory all morning till lunch, then hours of whirling activity in the lab all afternoon. They gave me no discipline problems, but even keeping up with that many teenage boys in an active setting can make a flu virus look like a desirable vacation.
In our program, keeping up is not enough. We run ahead and challenge them to keep up. I'm on the far side of my forth decade, and today I worked a class full of teenagers into the ground. Ugh.

Follow that with teaching an evening course in emissions inspection, and this old bear is mentally and physically blasted.

Then, to cap off the day.... I received word the black lab I have spent most of the last decade with will be put down tomorrow. My old buddy... just got too old. He'll be off chasing ducks in heaven in a few hours.

Only.... damn.
