"I'm telling you, if we can't see him then he
can't see us hiding behind this car".
WRONG again, boys.

One of the vehicles in for service is a school van, brought down
from one of our other campuses. It's used to haul kids around, and
as such is a priority vehicle. The thing is.... the other campus
also has an automotive program of sorts... and the principal there
sent the vehicle down to us. What does that tell you?
The students I have working on this school van.... one came
to me today and asked if he was doing okay with it.
I told him.... "Xxxxxx, this is a school van. It's a school bus.
If you screw up, a bunch of kids could be hurt or killed.
Why do you think I have you working on this van?
The fact you care enough to ask if you are doing it
right tells me all I need to know."
We have, at this moment any combination of the
following task work happening all at the same time:
- McPherson Struts
- Shock Absorbers
- Coil springs
- Leaf springs
- Steering rack and pinions
- Steering knuckles
- Sealed hub bearings
- Serviceable bearings
- Sway bars
- Track bars
- Control arms
It makes for interesting days, with students digging
in and getting buried in crunchy vehicle guts.
Large parts are coming off cars and going back on, springs
are sproinging, and things are occasionally going clang in merry ways.
It's grand!
